This is the final PC assembly with the trash picked PS/2 keybard sitting on top. The case is an EBay purchase, it came with an AT PSU installed and is generally in great condition. The bottom slot cover is not fixed, the mechanism has broken off.
I probably do need to investigate the PSU tough. It is running and the voltage seem stable, but it releases a strange, sweat-like odor when running.
The mainboard installed in the case, the graphics card is to the left, at the right is an ISA super I/O card with the CF-to-IDE adapter sitting next to it.
Barely visible (only really if you know what to look for), covered by the ribbon cables, is an ISA option ROM card, sitting in one of the 8 bit slots.
This is the grab-bag whatever looked OK from the box of random ISA cards, super I/O card. In the final assembly, it has both floppy drives, the CF-to-IDE adapter and the serial mouse connected to it.
To make the machine boot from the CF card, this ISA option ROM card is used.
I found the project via some Google searching, ordered a few from JLC, assembled it and plugged in a 27C64B EEPROM with the XT-IDE Universal BIOS flashed onto it.
